Mr. Perry described the division's coordinated training with the Southampton County Sheriff's Office, including a weekend active-attack response exercise at Meherrin Elementary that involved SWAT and patrol officers. He also outlined steps to finalize an AED-inspection and cardiac-response plan with nursing staff and said schools will be responsible for turning threat-assessment information to the central office for review and reporting to the Department of Criminal Justice Services where applicable.
