Councilor Pat Campbell framed the decision around public safety and local fire history, saying the measure is necessary "to reduce the threat of fires in the town limits that could cause extensive damage to lives, homes, businesses, public facilities, infrastructure, and natural surroundings of Springdale." The ordinance cites state code authority and the Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands' designation of Springdale as a community at high wildfire risk. The Council emphasized the ban covers all areas inside the town boundary, including State Route 9 and adjacent corridors, and directed the mayor to sign the ordinance. The motion passed unanimously.
