Public Works flags $36M+ shortfall across three priority projects including Barnes Park pool

Public Works Director Sean Igoe gave a detailed capital improvement program update and identified several large funding shortfalls for high‑priority projects. He said Station 61 has an estimated total cost of roughly $3 million with a $500,000 gap, Station 63 is estimated at about $17 million with a funding shortfall of about $10.75 million after prior allocations and partial earmarks, and Barnes Park Pool carries an estimated cost of $32.5 million with a roughly $25 million gap.
"These 3 projects alone total over $52,000,000 and with a funding gap of over $36,000,000," Igoe told the council, noting that some restricted transportation funds in the five‑year CIP cannot be applied to these projects. He also said the five‑year CIP currently identifies about $261 million of projects, including approximately $100 million of SR710 transit‑restricted funds that are limited in their allowable uses.
