The Sanilac County Board appointed Brett Lester to the Sand Lake Transportation Board for a four‑year term expiring Dec. 1, 2029. Lester described his background and said he could serve as a liaison between mental‑health services and transportation providers.
Lester said he had 27 years in law enforcement and currently directs the Michigan House of Hope men's shelter and a food pantry. "I think I bring a unique set of knowledge of the needs of vulnerable individuals of which the Salem Transportation serves," he said. Commissioners praised his experience and approved the appointment by voice vote.
