RCCD liaison reviews Land Conservation survey results; SHEA outlines National Estuaries Week plans

Sara McNamara-Gagnon, Hampton-Seabrook Estuary Conservation Liaison, told the commission the body was established in 1965 and summarized preliminary results of a Land Conservation Strategic Plan survey. Key survey highlights included stewardship of conservation land, invasive-species management, and education/outreach; natural-resource priorities included wetlands, groundwater/contamination issues, wildlife habitat, high-value resource areas, and farmland protection.
Shawn Hanson reported that the Seabrook-Hamptons Estuary Alliance is planning National Estuaries Week outreach in September, has hired a communications consultant, and will offer iNaturalist trainings (virtual July 15, noon–1 p.m.; in-person July 21, 5:30–7:30 p.m.) and a Depot Road BioBlitz on July 25 from 1:30–4:30 p.m.
