Trustees voted to amend mobile food vehicle rules so vendors are not limited to a single special-event permit per year (Ordinance 25-06). Supporters said removing the limit will make it easier for regular vendors to participate in multiple village events when there is no competitive harm to other businesses.
The board also adopted changes that move mobile food licensing into the annual fee ordinance (25-07) and establish a special-event mobile food vehicle license fee of $0 while collecting 20% of event sales as the village’s share. The clerk and trustees clarified this is a share of sales (revenues) rather than a charge tied to net profit. "If they sell something, we get a portion," a board member explained during the discussion.
