Trustees approved Resolution 25-09 authorizing a vegetation-management agreement with Sedam Solar LLC as part of conditions for a previously approved solar facility. The board heard that the agreement allows the village to review and approve plant types and maintenance plans to ensure the correct vegetation is planted and sustained around the solar array.
A presenter told the board the village would partner with the Ogle County Soil and Water Conservation District to identify appropriate plantings and to help ensure compliance. On the vote, trustees approved the resolution and recorded the passage in the meeting minutes. "This agreement will help the village have input to make sure that the correct type and of vegetation is planted...and then it's maintained under the terms of the agreement," the presenter explained.
