Village board swears in new clerk, approves treasurer appointment

The Village of Davis Junction board approved two personnel appointments and administered an oath to the newly appointed village clerk.
Chair (speaker 1) nominated Brenda for village treasurer and Lisa Lewis for village clerk; Trustee (speaker 3) made the motions and the board separated the nominations. The motion to appoint Brenda as treasurer passed on a voice vote; the motion to appoint Lisa Lewis as village clerk passed after a second and a voiced opposition was recorded. After the vote Lisa Lewis repeated the oath and was sworn in as village clerk.
Chair (speaker 1) read the oath as Lisa Lewis repeated it and affirmed she would “support the constitution of The United States and the constitution of the state of Illinois” and “faithfully discharge the duties of the office of village clerk to the best of my ability,” after which the board welcomed her. The appointees will assume the duties described in the village code; the board did not take further personnel action at the meeting.
