Engineer Dale Hamilton reported that the village submitted its NPDES permit application for the wastewater treatment plant to the EPA and that a subsequent field inspection identified a discrepancy: a pipe culvert shown on the permit drawings had not yet been installed.
Hamilton said inspectors confirmed the pipe culvert was not in place and recommended the village install that feature before the permit is finalized. "We did finish a field inspection, and confirmed that the pipe culvert that was on their plans was not installed yet. So they should do that before signing off on that," Hamilton told trustees.
The board did not take a formal vote on the permit at the Feb. 25 meeting; staff said they would follow up with the permitting agency and report back.
