Splash pad project faces about a one-month delay after MEP consultant absence, village engineer says

Village engineering staff told trustees that design work on the OSLAD-funded splash pad and expanded shelter/restrooms is close to completion but has slipped about a month after an unexpected absence at the MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) consulting firm.
"They're planning on starting that finishing up that work in mid-March and then completing mid-April," Engineer Dale Hamilton said, adding that the consultants need final drawings from the village to finish their updates. Hamilton said architecture and structural design updates are nearly finished, and staff will provide final drawings to the MEP consultant so the project schedule can proceed.
No revised contract approvals were requested at the Feb. 25 meeting; staff said they will return to the board with updated drawings and cost estimates as they become available.
