Davis Junction board adopts four-item consent agenda, approves $82,878.06 in payments and sesquicentennial contracts

The Village of Davis Junction administrative board adopted a four-item consent agenda during its Feb. 25 meeting, approving a bills-payable warrant dated Feb. 25, 2025, totaling $82,878.06 and two resolutions authorizing contracts tied to the village’s 2025 sesquicentennial events.

Trustee Jen Christiansen moved to place items 1–4 on the consent agenda and then moved to adopt them under the omnibus-vote procedure specified in the Illinois Municipal Code. "I move to adopt items 1 through 4 inclusively on the consent agenda in a single group pursuant to the omnibus vote procedure specified in the Illinois Municipal Code," Christiansen said. Trustee Nathan Moss seconded; the clerk recorded the adoption as "6-0-2." The consent items listed in the meeting packet were: minutes of the Jan. 28, 2025 administrative board meeting; the bills-payable warrant list dated Feb. 25, 2025; Resolution No. 25-05 (a performance-agreement authorization for an act listed as "the party doctors" for the 2025 sesquicentennial event); and Resolution No. 25-06 (a sound-and-light contracting agreement for the 2025 sesquicentennial event with a vendor identified in the packet as "REHM" in the meeting materials).

The motions and votes were handled as a single omnibus action; the clerk announced the final tally as six in favor, zero opposed, two absent or not recorded. The board did not remove any consent item for separate discussion. The adopted resolutions authorize village staff to execute the contracts listed in the packet; the vendor name for the sound-and-light contract was described in the meeting materials but was not spelled out clearly in spoken discussion and is recorded in the packet as presented to trustees.

Next steps: staff will execute contracts and process the approved warrant items per usual administrative procedure.
