Council discussed community events and a possible land donation from the Peternell family. Council Member Danita Traut described plans for a Winter Extravaganza on Dec. 13 from 2 to 4 p.m., including refreshments, games and crafts. Council Member Tom Vouk outlined an early proposal for a 250th USA celebration focused on agriculture and recommended forming a planning committee for the larger event.
On the Peternell land donation, a family member (Angie) raised concerns that an address in the minutes may be incorrect; the family said they were exploring options and the council advised developing a nonprofit plan and bringing it to the Planning Commission as the next step.
