Council approves pension raise for fire relief association, accepts $25,000 donation to equipment fund

The St. Stephen Fire & Rescue Relief Association reported it is in round three of an audit and does not expect funds until March or April. The council approved a motion to raise the per-year-of-service pension from $2,450 to $2,750 (moved by Council Member Danita Traut, seconded by Tom Vouk); Council Members Gene Skaj and Steve Trobec abstained from that vote.
Separately, the council approved Resolution 12032025 to accept a $25,000 donation from the relief association for the fire equipment fund (moved by Danita Traut, seconded by Tom Vouk). The donation was approved by voice vote and recorded in the minutes as passed.
