Aging & Youth staff flag farmers market coupon reductions, issue RFPs and schedule Parent Café

Kelly Beaudette, Aging and Youth Deputy Director, briefed the Human Services Committee on program operations and outreach plans, noting a potential reduction in farmers market coupons that serve seniors and that a state conference call is scheduled for June 9 to address uncertainties about the program.
"She also discussed farmers market coupons, noting that a state conference call is scheduled for June 9th to address uncertainties surrounding the program due to a reduction in coupon distribution," Beaudette said. She said seniors rely heavily on the coupons and that the department will report back when the state clarifies distribution changes.
Beaudette added that the department has begun interviewing candidates for a part-time and a full-time aide and that Sodus Point Beach opened for Memorial Day weekend. Staff announced RFPs for home-delivered meal services, dietitian services and youth sports funding. The department will host the final Parent Café on June 25 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Sodus Point Pavilion; Cornell Cooperative Extension and Jefferson County representatives will join the community engagement component and refreshments will be provided.
