Council approved a sale and development agreement for 725 Plainview Lane intended to promote construction of a modest, affordable home. City Manager said the packet contained the draft agreement and described incentives: a $5,000 grant if a new home is built and $5,000 to cover sewer and water connection expenses; the land would be sold for $4,000 but that amount would be forgiven if the buyer constructed the home.
Manager also noted an elevation requirement tied to floodplain concerns and said the house described in the agreement would be approximately 24 by 26 feet and capable of becoming a two-bedroom home; because of elevation limitations, larger homes are unlikely on the site. Council moved, seconded and approved the resolution by voice vote.
