The Village of Catskill Planning Board approved a site plan and sign application for a Burger King renovation at 241 West Bridge Street on July 27, 2026, after finding no significant environmental impacts on the record. Sam Perez moved a negative declaration under SEQRA Part 1; the motion, seconded by Jay Lesenger, passed with all members voting in favor.
Applicant representative Craig Tripp presented proposed updates including new corporate branding, revised signage, updated lighting, improved accessibility, drainage and landscaping, and changes to traffic circulation intended to better accommodate larger delivery vehicles. The board recorded that NYSDOT will repave the entrance and install a new guide rail without requiring lane closures. The board also requested that "a second bicycle rack be added to the plan if possible and emphasized that all lighting should be directed downward to minimize glare." The site plan approval was conditioned on installing the second bicycle rack if feasible and complying with all applicable NYSDOT requirements.
The board opened and closed a public hearing on the application during the meeting. Motions recorded in the minutes show the sign application was approved (motion seconded by Ann Gibbons) and the Site Plan Application was approved on a motion by Ann Gibbons, seconded by Michele Pulver; both votes carried without opposition. Next steps for the applicant include final coordination with NYSDOT on entrance work and any required building or construction permits before on-site work begins.
