COOR Intermediate School District outlines services, reach across six districts

Superintendent Shawn Petri of the COOR Intermediate School District gave the board an overview of the district’s role and services. “COOR ISD serves over 7,000 students within six school districts and two public academies,” Petri said, and the district provides professional learning for approximately 500 teachers, administrators and staff, acts as a liaison with government agencies, and offers instructional, special education, early childhood and career and technical education services.
Commissioners received the briefing as informational; no action was taken. Petri’s presentation provides context for county-level coordination on student services and potential intergovernmental collaboration going forward.
