Crawford County board holds annual organizational meeting; elects vice chair, affirms committees

The Crawford County Board of Commissioners convened its annual organizational meeting on Jan. 8, 2026, at 10:02 a.m. in the Crawford County Building in Grayling. Chairperson Laurie Jamison called the meeting to order, Commissioner Frederick gave the invocation and Commissioner Lewis led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call recorded five members present (Jamison, Frederick, Goscicki, Moore and Lewis) and two absent (Kraycs and Moeller). County Clerk-Register of Deeds Jamie McClain and County Controller Paul Compo were recorded as present.
The board approved the meeting agenda by a unanimous voice vote (Ayes 5, Nays 0; Absent 2). During new business, Commissioners elected Commissioner Lewis as vice chair for 2026 by unanimous vote after a nomination from Commissioner Goscicki. The board also affirmed committee chair appointments and reviewed a full slate of committee and external-representation assignments for the year. The meeting concluded with adoption of the board’s 2026 regular-meeting schedules and adjourned at 10:12 a.m.
