Crawford County schedules public hearing on balanced FY2026 budget; approves amendments

The Crawford County Board of Commissioners accepted proposed General Fund and Special Revenue Fund budget amendments Sept. 11 and set a public hearing on the FY2026 budget for Thursday, Sept. 25 at 10:00 a.m.
County Controller Paul Compo presented the Audit Committee's recommendations and said, "The Budget is balanced at $7,188,626." The board approved the amendments and the committee's recommended salary increases for elected and appointed employees; those increases were incorporated into the proposed FY2026 budgets.
Board members moved and seconded the budget amendments in separate votes; each motion carried on recorded roll calls with five ayes and two absences. The public hearing will provide an opportunity for formal public comment before final adoption.
