Sun Valley council delays Lane Meadows decision, schedules June 2 site visit

The Sun Valley City Council voted to continue action on the multiple Lane Meadows land-use applications and set a site visit for June 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., reconvening afterward in the council chambers for further discussion and possible decision. Council President Keith Saks made the motion to continue to a date certain; the council amended the motion to specify the June 2 site visit and passed the measure by voice vote.
City staff and the council debated whether the site visit and subsequent meeting required additional public notice. Community Development Director Mark Hoffman said he preferred to re-notice the meeting regardless of legal minimums, and City Attorney Adam King supported following Hoffman's approach to notice. The continuation leaves the five related applications — annexation, comprehensive plan amendment, zoning amendment, master plan/PUD and a ten‑lot preliminary plat — pending while council members review the site in person.
