Board approves new salary formula, raises sheriff and undersheriff pay

Separately, the Board approved a policy approach to calculate future years' separation in pay: the Undersheriff's wage will reflect a 30% increase over the annual base wage of the top deputy (top deputy hourly wage multiplied by 2,080 hours) and the Sheriff's wage will reflect a 40% increase over that base. Commissioners said the formula is intended to preserve pay separation between ranks going forward.
