Sheriff’s office announces promotion, retirement date and training updates

Gammicchia said the application period for a vacant part-time corrections officer position closes tomorrow, and Correction Officer D. Brown will attend the Corrections Academy next month.
Gammicchia noted staff recertification for Taser instructors is underway after two employees were certified last month. He said he will retire next Friday; a celebration and a 1:00 P.M. swearing-in of Corporal Katie Tessner as the new Jail Administrator were recorded in the minutes. The jail’s food vendor was bought out by Canteen; the county is reviewing a projected 5% increase for 2026.
