Board hears grant-funded facilities updates including water heaters, skylights and HVAC work

Administrators reported Health Life Safety and School Maintenance grant-funded projects: replacement of two commercial water heaters ($23,500) and skylights ($20,000) at CPS, a nonfunctional rooftop AC at Holford (estimate pending), security cameras and an HVAC restroom project for $17,000, plus an RTU controller upgrade for $49,975.
District administrator Dale Heidbreder summarized several facilities projects funded through the Health Life Safety and School Maintenance grants. Heidbreder said, “the Health Life Safety Grant Projects include upgrades at both CPS and Holford Gym,” noting two commercial water heaters at CPS will be replaced at a cost of $23,500 and skylights at CPS are slated for replacement at $20,000. He also reported the rooftop air-conditioning unit at Holford (installed in 2004) is currently nonfunctional and awaiting a replacement cost estimate.
Under School Maintenance Grant projects, Heidbreder described planned security-camera installations at the Pavilion, dumpster area and CIS cafeteria, an HVAC installation for event-lobby restrooms outside the Central Gym priced at $17,000, and an upgrade of RTU 7 office-area controllers estimated at $49,975. Heidbreder added routine maintenance tasks: gym floors will be stripped next week for the Curley Boo Johnson Camp and most classrooms have been painted except those in the seventh-grade hallway.
