SUN VALLEY, Idaho — The Sun Valley City Council went into executive session Oct. 16 under Idaho Code 67-2345(1)(a) and (f) to discuss personnel matters and a newly received lawsuit.
Council President Bob Youngman moved that the council go into executive session under the cited statute “in order to discuss the salaries of Fire Chief and Police Chief, and (f) to discuss a newly received lawsuit, Sharon Hammer vs. the City of Sun Valley,” a motion seconded by Council Member Nils Ribi and approved by roll call. The minutes record the council entering executive session at 4:20 p.m.; they discussed both topics between 4:20 and 4:43 p.m., and then discussed only the personnel matter (the (a) topic) before emerging at 5:00 p.m.
After returning to open session the council amended the agenda and later moved to direct the mayor to meet with two attorneys to negotiate defense for the city in the recorded lawsuit.
