Engineer reports IEPA issued Well 7 construction permit; streets, watermain and sidewalk projects also updated

C.E.S. engineer Adam Bunge reported IEPA issued the construction permit for Well 7 (final water-quality retests will be required), Rock Roads completed 2025 street improvements pending final pay request, Mill Road watermain alignment and easement work continues, and a sidewalk/inlets contractor will begin work with a 30-working-day schedule.
Adam Bunge of C.E.S. told trustees that the Illinois EPA has issued the construction permit for Well 7; as part of the operating permit process, the village will be required to retest for radium and gross alpha during the final well water-quality testing. Bunge said SCADA revised drawings remain a controlling item for Well House completion and Metropolitan will add requested controls and monitoring equipment.
Bunge reported Rock Roads completed the Cherry Valley 2025 Streets Improvements project and has received the final quantities; Rock Roads is reviewing the quantities for a second pay request, with Pay Request 3 to be the final payment and release of retainage after the punch list is addressed.
On Mill Road watermain replacement and river crossing, Bunge said he submitted alignment and easement exhibits to the village for landowner review; other route options remain under consideration and plan adjustments are being made to account for IDOT US-20 improvements.
For the CV Sidewalk and Inlets 2025 project, Bunge and village staff held a preconstruction meeting; the contractor will begin sidewalk replacements in Newburg Village on Aug. 25 and has 30 working days to complete the contract.
The engineer's report was placed on file with the permanent record.
