Crawford County OKs $11,400 match for Historical Society DNR grant

The Crawford County Board of Commissioners voted Jan. 8 to provide an $11,400 county match to support a Department of Natural Resources grant application from the Crawford County Historical Society. Controller Paul Compo told commissioners the society is applying for a $38,000 DNR grant to fix its foundation and that the grant requires a 30% local match.
Compo said the society listed Crawford County as a project partner and asked the county to cover the match; the transcript records the society requested a $11,500 match but the motion approved by the board was for $11,400. The motion — moved by Commissioner Frederick and seconded by Commissioner Lewis — passed by roll call (Moore, Frederick, Goscicki, Lewis and Jamison recorded as aye; Kraycs and Moeller absent).
Compo said the county’s role would be to help oversee the project and assist in maintaining county history. The county controller also noted the county audit is underway and that routine payroll forms were being processed. The board did not attach additional conditions to the match in the meeting record.
