Historical society wins board approval to place 0.175-mill museum millage on August 2026 ballot

The board voted to place a 0.175-mill proposal on the Aug. 4, 2026 ballot for a six-year period to support operations and an executive director.
Gail Thomas, representing the Historical Society, described volunteer shortages and building repair needs and asked commissioners to refer a millage to the voters. The motion to place the millage on the ballot was made by Commissioner Moore and seconded by Commissioner Lewis. Roll-call vote: Lewis — aye; Moore — aye; Moeller — aye; Frederick — nay; Goscicki — aye; Kraycs — aye; Jamison — aye. The motion carried (6–1).
