The West Bonner County School District #83 Finance Committee on May 15 heard that the FY23 financial audit has been put on hold so staff can complete the coming-year budget.
Director of Finance Kendra Salesky told the committee that some audit tasks will be paused while staff prepare the financial statements and worksheets her colleague Cathy requested. "The Audit has been put on hold to ensure that a budget can be created for the coming year," the committee record states. Salesky said Debra will focus on the budget for the next two weeks rather than continuing audit support work.
Committee members were told the FY24 audit remains on track and that FY25–26 financial audits are scheduled to begin in November with auditors Hayden and Ross. The committee also noted ESSER reporting "looked good" but that documentation related to maintenance and facilities is still needed for ESSER compliance.
