The Ladd Village Board approved a façade grant request for Rips Tavern after owner Angie Panizzi submitted required drawings and documentation. Trustees reviewed planned improvements and voted unanimously to approve the grant with Trustee Nicholson absent.
Panizzi also raised a separate concern about a tree on Main Avenue that sits outside Rips' outdoor dining area, saying it “needs a big clean-up” because it generates a mess when it rains or is windy. Public Works noted trimming responsibilities and the clerk and attorney discussed that the Village is now responsible for trimming after identifying prior owner maintenance practices; trustees asked staff to compile a list of trees near live lines for scheduled trimming.
