Superintendent Mark Kress said Moreland Elementary received a grant from Blue Cross of Idaho to expand the preschool program and recommended a $40-per-month fee for families who do not qualify for fee assistance. The program will run four days per week with 2 hours and 15 minutes per session (8:45–11:00 a.m. and 12:00–2:15 p.m. options); parents would pay $120 per trimester by the end of the first month of each trimester. Transportation will not be provided for the preschool sessions.
Board member Carol Hepworth moved and Larin Mortimer seconded approval of the expanded preschool program and the recommended $40 monthly fee; the motion passed with all board members present voting aye (4-0). The district will implement the grant-funded expansion and collect fees only from families who do not qualify for assistance.
