The Minerva Town Board on Nov. 20 accepted the lowest sealed bid for concrete work on the town gym, approving a $40,095.72 contract and directing staff to proceed. The board reviewed three bids read aloud by the Town Clerk and carried the acceptance on a 4-0 roll-call vote.
At the meeting the Town Clerk read three sealed bids: Northwoods Concrete ($53,520.00), Gallup Concrete LLC ($45,995.00) and Palmer Property Services ($40,095.72). Councilman David LaBar moved, and Councilman Douglas McCall seconded, a motion (#312) to accept the lowest bid at $40,095.72; Aye votes were recorded from Supervisor Stephen McNally, Councilmen Douglas McCall, David LaBar and Scott Fish and the motion carried 4-0. The board’s minutes record the low bidder elsewhere in the same meeting as “Palmer Land Services”; the record shows the awarded price as $40,095.72.
