Board OKs PPRTA IGA so town can incur engineering costs now and seek reimbursement in 2025

The Board approved a PPRTA intergovernmental agreement that allows the town to incur design and engineering costs this year and seek reimbursement from the PPRTA in 2025 when the project becomes eligible. Staff said the agreement was vetted and approved by the PPRTA and that the town previously authorized up to $10,000 for preliminary design and cost estimating with BASIS.
The arrangement lets the town prepare engineering cost estimates and include those costs in a future RTA application; staff framed it as an administrative step so the town can proceed with necessary preconstruction work and be eligible for funding in the 2025 cycle. A motion to approve the IGA passed by voice vote.
