Chickasaw County raises Precinct Election Official mileage reimbursement to $0.73

On Aug. 3 the Chickasaw County Board approved an increase in the Precinct Election Official (PEO) mileage reimbursement rate to $0.73 per mile, effective for mileage incurred on or after Aug. 1, 2026. The motion, made by Supervisor Carter and seconded by Supervisor Breitbach, passed with Ayes: Carter, Breitbach, Suckow, Hackman.
The change affects reimbursement for election workers who use personal vehicles for official precinct duties; the minutes record only the motion, vote and effective date. The Auditor's office will apply the updated rate to PEO reimbursements going forward.
