The Abbott I.S.D. Board of Trustees unanimously approved a construction agreement with the City of Abbott on Oct. 9 that governs a planned lift-station upgrade. Trustee Blake Kettler moved approval with three express provisions: the City of Abbott will cover the cost of the backup generator; the City will pay 25% of the project's cost; and the City will permit the district to tap the sewer so the fieldhouse can be used before the lift station upgrade is completed. Trustee Doug Pustejovsky seconded the motion; the board voted 6–0 in favor.
The recorded provisions allocate specific costs and a sequencing accommodation that allows the district to begin using the fieldhouse prior to completion of the upgrade. The minutes do not include a contract number, project cost total, or construction schedule; those details would be in the executed agreement or supporting exhibits retained by the district and the City of Abbott.
Board approval with the listed provisions lets the district proceed with fieldhouse operations under the agreed conditions while the lift-station work continues.
