Highway superintendent reports winter prep, equipment work and sold vehicle

Highway Superintendent Mike Croft updated the Town of Montour Board on road maintenance and winter preparations at the Nov. 6 meeting. He said roadside mowing will be completed the following week with assistance from Schuyler County and neighboring towns, and that shoulders on Winton, MacDowell and Havana Glen roads were graveled; driveways on Frost Hill had pipes replaced. "150 tons of salt was ordered and delivered," Croft told the Board.
Croft also reported equipment work: the 2019 Ford F-550 was onsite for plow checks and expected back the following week; the 2016 Western Star had transmission and PTO work done at Peterbilt in Owego and an electrical fuse block and master disconnect were added to meet NYMIR insurance requirements. He said the 1993 GMC sold for $7,800 and was picked up last week. The park and camper have been winterized and closed for the year.
