The resolution asserts that the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) and subsequent state budget provisions have restricted consumer choice by phasing out natural gas hookups in many new buildings and that the Energy Choice Act would protect consumers' access to natural gas and other energy sources. The board directed copies of the resolution be sent to several federal and state officials, including Congressman Nick Langworthy, Senator Chuck Schumer, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Governor Kathy Hochul, and other members of New York's congressional delegation.
