The project and trails committee unanimously recommended that the town approve construction of a pedestrian footbridge as an alternate crossing over Crystal Falls; staff said the bridge would be sited below the existing crossing and would provide hikers an additional option in adverse weather. The committee recommended using materials funded by the Kirkpatrick family fund and the contractor identified in committee materials would perform construction.
Trustee (speaker 5) moved to approve the project and the trustees voted in favor. The board’s approval authorizes moving forward with the design and procurement steps described by the trails committee report and directs staff to coordinate construction timing and permits.
