The Chickasaw County board convened at 09:00 in the county courthouse courtroom and approved its agenda with two deletions: the job description for an "auto administrator specialist" and a change order for extra work at the new Conservation Building, both removed because details were not ready.
The chair opened the vote: "Motion by Scott, 2nd by Isaac to approve the agenda with 2 deletions," and the motion carried 4–0 with the absence of Steve. The board then adopted routine items: a motion by Travis, second by Isaac, approved minutes from Aug. 3 (Scott abstained), payroll dated Aug. 7 was approved on a motion by Travis and second by Scott, and prior bills totaling $31,007.07 were approved on a motion by Scott and second by Isaac.
Separately, the chair announced larger claims for payment. "And then the claims totaling 1,433,684 and 66¢," the chair said, noting contract and capital-project items tied to bond-funded work. The board moved by Travis, second by Isaac, to pay claims totaling $1,433,684.06; roll call carried 4–0 with Steve absent.
The votes and motions were procedural and did not create new policy. The board recorded one abstention (on the Aug. 3 minutes) and one absence (Steve).
