District reports SEL growth and seeks more information before adopting Panorama as state survey tool

Dr. Sean Rhoads told the Board that the district's final round of social-emotional learning (SEL) benchmarking for 2024–25 showed continued growth across all three schools and presented preliminary 5Essentials survey results.
Rhoads said there is a solid correlation between students' SEL and executive-function growth and academic achievement, but the Board requested more information before moving forward with a change in survey tools. The motion to approve a state application for Panorama as the state survey tool was deferred to the August meeting so Dr. Rhoads can obtain additional details from the state.
Board members asked for further information on what a Panorama designation would mean for reporting and administration; no adoption occurred at the July meeting.
