Boiling Spring Lakes commissioners on March 3 approved changes to Article 7, Section 7-40 (Lot Drainage Plans). Assistant City Manager Nicole Morgan said staff rewrote the language to define “standalone lots,” clarified that detailed drainage plans are only required when the City’s Stormwater Engineer determines they are necessary, and removed a proposed finished floor elevation requirement from the ordinance for further study.
Commissioner Todd Ausborn moved to adopt Ordinance 10.4 amending Section 7-40; Commissioner Teagan Hall seconded and the motion passed 4-0. Morgan explained the city remains under county jurisdiction for stormwater control in certain instances and that the amendment is designed to provide tailored, site-specific requirements rather than a one-size-fits-all standard.
