Public works staff told the council the 2026 patrol truck is part of the city's 2025 capital equipment plan and that funds are available from 23/24 bonding. Staff said the chassis was ordered in December 2022 and that Lakeside Truck quoted $120,004.55 for the chassis; additional equipment (box, sander wing, plow) was discussed as existing or separately priced. "We're looking at final approval on the budget with that, to purchase the truck from Lakeside Truck for $120,004.55," the staff member said.
Council discussed the delivery timeline and the practice of listing the replaced vehicle on surplus. Staff said the chassis could be built in August but final outfitting could delay full delivery until December or January. A council member moved and the motion was seconded; the roll call recorded affirmative votes and the purchase was approved and will go on to counsel. Council also approved listing the existing truck on surplus once it is out of service.
