Crawford County appoints four township representatives to Planning Commission; Treasurer added to Brownfield Authority

At its Nov. 20 meeting the Crawford County Board of Commissioners appointed four township nominees to the county Planning Commission and filled a requested slot on the Brownfield Authority.
Clerk/Register Jamie McClain presented township-submitted nominees and the board approved the following appointments: Steve Nelson (Beaver Creek Township), term to 03/31/2028; Lacey Stephan (Grayling Township), term to 03/31/2028; Deb Friedman (Frederic Township), term to 12/31/2027; and William Romzick (South Branch Township), term to 12/31/2028. The motions were made and carried on roll call.
Controller Paul Compo asked that Treasurer Kate Wagner be appointed to the Brownfield Authority; the board approved the appointment effective at the Nov. 20 meeting. The minutes record that Compo noted the Crawford County Brownfield Authority had met Oct. 30 to discuss an EPA grant and that RFPQ timelines may need adjustment following an email from the EPA about a shutdown.
"Motion by Lewis, second by Moore, to appoint Steve Nelson with Beaver Creek Township to the Planning Commission with a term ending 03/31/2028," appears verbatim in the record and the board recorded roll-call approvals for the slate of nominees and the Brownfield appointment.
