Crawford County board authorizes $900k+ in claims, controller says revenue is up 2%

The Crawford County Board of Commissioners authorized payment of a broad batch of county claims at its Nov. 20 meeting and reviewed a budget performance report that showed slightly higher revenue than a year earlier.

County Controller Paul Compo told commissioners that "Revenue is 2% up compared to last year," and that preliminary audit preparation is complete. Compo said the county is "projecting to add $100,000.00 to $150,000.00 to fund balance in the general fund," while noting overall expenses are about 3.24% higher than last year and that one special revenue fund (Fund 784) is projected to end in a deficit.

The board approved the open-invoice report and authorized payment across multiple funds, with the minutes recording a General Fund total of $910,867.00 and numerous other fund totals recorded in the meeting packet. Commissioner Kraycs moved to authorize the payments; the motion carried on roll call with all commissioners recorded as voting aye.

The report also noted that all special revenue funds except four will add to their fund balances for the year, and that the county will adjust timelines for an RFPQ tied to an EPA grant discussed elsewhere in controller remarks. The board did not amend the budget at the meeting and took no additional formal fiscal actions beyond payment authorization.
