The Marion ISD Board of Trustees approved written consulting contracts that allow administrator Daniel Terrazas to receive financial benefit for providing services outside the district.
The board met in closed session under Texas Government Code sections 551.071 and 551.074 to consider legal and personnel aspects of consulting contracts; no final action was taken in closed session. When the board reconvened in open session at 9:09 p.m., Ryan Schwab moved and Caleb Rackley seconded a motion to approve the written consulting contracts for Daniel Terrazas; the motion passed 6–0.
The minutes record the approval but do not provide contract amounts, term lengths or scope of the outside services. The board indicated the action followed attorney consultation in closed session under Texas law; the district's records office or the superintendent's office should hold the finalized contract documents for public inspection.
