Dr. Freeman told the committee that policies under Review and Monitoring were on five-year reviews and recommended updating policy 5:270 to reflect payroll dates specified in employment contracts. The committee also reviewed three policies categorized as Minor Changes or Housekeeping and discussed policy 6:235 as a Substantial Change; Chair James proposed adjusting language in 6:235 to reference the district's AI Guidance Plan. Funk moved and Drum seconded a recommendation to the Board to approve Issue 119 with the additional language for policy 5:270 and policy 6:235 as presented; roll call was Yes—Drum, Funk, James, and the motion carried 3-0.
The committee's action was a recommendation to the Board of Education; it did not itself adopt the policies. The full Board will receive Issue 119 and the committee's suggested edits at a subsequent Board meeting for final consideration.
