Karen Stevens, Washington Community High School staff, reviewed the WCHS Student Support Team proposal and highlighted the diploma section of the plan.
"The goal is for 3% or fewer students to earn a non-traditional diploma," the minutes state. Stevens also walked the committee through intervention steps the team will use to support students at risk of a non-traditional completion pathway.
Committee member James moved and Essig seconded a recommendation to the full Board to approve the Student Support Team as presented. The roll call vote was Yes — Drum, Essig, James. The motion carried 3-0.
The recommendation now goes to the Washington Community High School Board of Education for final action. The minutes do not specify a date for the board vote.
