Echo School District 5's board voted to adopt the district's fiscal year 2025'26 budget and to set an operating tax rate of $4.6747 per $1,000 of assessed value.
Committee member (speaker 2) moved to "approve resolution 25-02, adopting the budget for Echo School District 5R fiscal year 2025, 2026 budget at a tax rate of $4.6747 per thousand of assessed value for operating purposes," listing fund authorizations of $8,766,638 for the general fund, $2,178,000 for special funds, $1,370,000 for debt service and $282,000 for construction for a total of $12,596,638. The motion was seconded and carried with no recorded opposition.
Board members and staff described the adopted totals and emphasized that the tax rate and fund authorizations align with state budget filing requirements and their prior hearings. Chair (speaker 3) called for the vote after discussion; the motion passed and the board declared the budget adopted.
The adoption is the culmination of a series of budget hearings and technical reviews; staff noted the district will continue monitoring grant awards and state reimbursements that affect special-fund lines but said no additional general-fund supplemental budget was needed at this time.
