Barnes delivered the district's staff report and outlined classroom progress across grade levels, from early math skills to high‑school electives. "They are back into the swing of things, working on double digit addition and subtraction with regrouping," Barnes said about 2nd grade instruction, and described 4th graders' Lewis and Clark and Oregon Trail studies as well as 5th grade work on decimals, fractions and coordinate planes.
Barnes also highlighted elective and extracurricular activity across the junior high and high school, noting new personal finance material in home economics, mock trials in forensics, and culinary students baking for a game‑night fundraiser. He announced the elementary spring concert set for April 17 and senior presentations planned for April 9–10, and mentioned FFA students pursuing state degrees. The report included trip planning for a Washington, D.C.,/Everglades tour and a ski trip scheduled March 14.
