Planning Board to hold work sessions in-person and before regular meetings under Open Meetings Law

At the close of its Feb. 4 meeting the Mount Vernon Planning Board adopted a procedural change: work sessions will now precede Planning Board meetings and will be held in person rather than via Zoom, the Chair announced.
"Work sessions will now precede the Planning Board meetings. Work sessions will no longer be conducted via Zoom to comply with the requirement for in-person attendance under the New York State Open Meetings Law and applicable City legislation," Chair Darryl Selsey said. A clerical note in the minutes adds that work sessions "will be open to the public but closed to public participation subject to the Open Meetings Law, [Section 105 of New York State Public Officers Law, Article 7]." The board also set the next combined work session and regular meeting for Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
