The Mount Vernon Planning Board on Feb. 4 approved a special permit for 136 East Third Street to allow part of an existing two-bay garage, currently operating as a car-detail shop, to be used as a one-bay car repair space.
The owner, 136 E. Third Street Holdings, was represented at the meeting by Vladimir Levin, the lead design professional. Levin described the property as a 10,773-square-foot lot in the Neighborhood Business zoning district and presented a draft resolution that included a condition requiring details about the proposed sidewalk repair. "The applicant is requesting a special permit approval for an existing 2 bay garage currently operating as a car detail shop to be utilized in part as a 1 bay car repair space," Levin said at the meeting.
Commissioner Charles Whites moved to approve the resolution; Commissioner Jamael Thompson seconded. The Planning Board approved the resolution by a vote of 4-0. The resolution adopted at the meeting attaches the sidewalk-repair information requirement as a condition of approval.
